Project Details

Cargill expanded into its sales territory by building a new steel processing and distribution facility in the Great Western Industrial Park in Windsor, Colorado. dcb was selected to design and build the plant.  The project provided some unique and challenging design considerations.  The 65,100 SF building is rail served and the orientation, and elevation of the building was engineered for maximum inbound railcar and throughput efficiency.

The Butler Manufacturing pre-engineered building was supplied to support 2 – 15-ton overhead bridge cranes and a single 30-ton crane as engineered and provided by American Equipment, Inc.  The adjacent process bays feature clear span construction and was dimensioned to offer the most efficient and economical structural design.  Two 70’ pit style truck scales were installed within plant.   The corporate grade administrative office features a breakroom and training room designed to FEMA and NSSA Guidelines.
