Project Summary
As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, homeless shelters have decreased shelter capacity due to the need for social distancing. In addition, there has been an increase in people experiencing homelessness because if the economic downturn. In response, the City and County of Denver, in its ongoing effort to provide support for persons experiencing homelessness, is partnering with dcb Construction Company to modify and update an existing former warehouse facility into an Emergency COVID-19 Homeless Shelter. The shelter will accommodate and service up to 600 new temporary residents and is being fast-tracked to meet the significant need of the community and protect the health of vulnerable populations.
